The Essence of Mono-no-aware in Modern Japanese Sensibility

もののあわれは、日本にほん人じんの感性かんせいに深ふかく関わるかかわる概念がいねんである。

Mono-no-aware is a concept deeply tied to the sensibility of the Japanese people.

これは、物事ものごとの儚はかなさや無常むじょうに対するたいする共感きょうかんであり、一方いっぽうで、それが美びと感かんじる感覚かんかくである。

This is empathy towards the transience and impermanence of things, and simultaneously, the feeling that it is beautiful.

現代げんだいにおいても、この感かん性せいは依然いぜんとして大切たいせつにされている。

Even in modern times, this sensibility is still cherished.

しかしながら、テクノロジーの進化しんかや情報じょうほう社会しゃかいの発展はってんは、人々ひとびとの価値観かちかんに変化へんかを与えあたえ、もののあわれの体験たいけんも影響えいきょうを受けるうける。

例えばたとえば、自然しぜんの美しさうつくしさを直接ちょくせつ味わうあじわう機会きかいが減少げんしょうしている。

このような環境かんきょうにおいて、もののあわれの感かん覚かくをどう育むはぐくむべきかは議論ぎろんの余地よちがある。

たとえ技術ぎじゅつが進歩しんぽしても、人間にんげんが自然しぜんと共存きょうぞんしていくことは変わらかわらない。
